The Meeting of Fallen Giants

Coming off their heart break at Anfield, Chelsea limp into this weekend’s match against Arsenal knowing that the FA Cup Arsenal vs. Chelseafinal against Man. Utd is their only real chance to add silverware to this season’s cabinet.

Unless something incredible happens at the City of Manchester Stadium in the Manchester derby, Chelsea will end 2nd in the league. Having already slipped in the draw against Bolton last week, Mourinho’s team may be fully primed for a defeat at the hands of the Gunners to finalize the Red Devils as the new EPL Champions.

Not that Wenger will want to be doing Sir Alex any favors; however, the young guns will be hoping to make amends for their Carling Cup disappointment with a victory for themselves at the Emirates on Sunday as well as try to leap frog Liverpool for a 3rd place finish in the league. Liverpool, however, travel to easy-pickins Fulham with the easiest of matches at Craven Cottage.

If Arsenal lose on Sunday, then they will go into their last game against Pompey knowing that have resigned themselves to 4th spot and no metals this time around. But looking at the bright side of things, they will still start out next season in the Champions League.
